Home - News - Sabah Mobile court resolves 95 per cent of late birth registration Posted on June 26, 2012, Tuesday SIPITANG: The mobile court concept, introduced in Sabah and Sarawak, has been able to resolve 95 per cent of cases involving late registration of births in rural and interior areas of Sabah, since its setup in 2007. Kota Kinabalu High Court deputy registrar Amir Shah Amir Hassan said almost 200 cases were lodged with the mobile court during its visits to several locations in the Sipitang district. Amir Shah said cases handled by the mobile court were not confined to only endorsement of birth certificates, but also to hear criminal cases for mention, registration of civil cases and as commissioner of oath. “Actually, we extend the functions of the court outside the office to the rural folk,” he told reporters at the two-say Mobile Court programme at Kampung Long Pasia, about 123km from here.
